I have decided to put up a separate blog to document my time at UTS. I guess UTS in itself is not a film school, it's more of a university with a renown communication faculty and it teaches film making which in book means film school.
Right now, it is the Friday of my 3rd week at UTS and I am doing a graduate diploma in media arts and production-video and film, which I will be requesting to be changed into a master program in September but I will need to get the information on how to do that exactly like right now. I just started in Spring semester and I guess finish in the December of 2010 if everything turns out right.
I am taking Film and Video Drama, Film and Video 1, and Issues in Documentary Film. As of right now, after 2 weeks of honeymoon of very little to do except to read and watch movies, assignments are starting to come in.
I actually have an assignment breathing down my neck right now, which is to write a backstory for a script my partner and I will be co-directing on Monday and I have to give the backstory to the actors as soon as possible. My partner and actually the rest of the group is a bit uncommunicative. I think that's what happen when you are working with a group of clicks, they are pretty self-absorb and don't want to deal with people outside of their clicks. I don't like that, we are paying massive tuition here to learn from one another.
Well, anyway, at 11am I am to meet my partner from Film and Video 1, James, to rough cut the footage we shot on Wednesday at the beach next to the airport.
In term of finance, I just applied to FEE-Help and hope that it will go through. I am also applying for AuStudy which will help me with my expenses as I am still passively looking for a job. Haven't been able to apply to too many jobs lately. I need to get on it.
I am also planning to take some acting class just to get a feel for actors and learn a bit of techniques about acting.
